Trip Overview

Gokyo Lake Trek is challenging, scenic, and short. And another thing is a less-traveled destination, in other words, it is an off the beaten trek. If you want Gokyo Lake Trek, then you are a true trekker. Indeed, Gokyo Lake is beautiful; it is as blue as the sky. In addition, Gokyo Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world, located at an altitude of 4000 m plus. Near this lake, you will see other lakes which are six in number. The largest lake is Thonak and famous among Hindus and Buddhists from the religious point of view. All these lakes are freshwater lakes; above all, they are sacred. You may find Gokyo Ri, a viewpoint as rewarding as anything else; it offers you the stunning, breathtaking, and an amazing view of the mountain. Some call this Ri the best viewpoint to see Mount Everest, and those who said are guides. Other mountains that you see are Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku, Makalu, and Lhotse. Ask this question to your guide once more whether Kalapathar or Gokyo Ri is the best viewpoint. Another highlight of the Gokyo Valley Trek is the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal. You will hike along this glacier.

Other things that you commonly notice as you walk are monasteries, prayer flags, and the hospitality service of the Sherpa people, and you are in the Sagarmatha National Park, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, from the starting of your trek to the end of your trek. As you reach Namche Bazaar, Dole, and Machherma, you will see the beautiful view of the mountain.
