Trip Overview

Between the world’s highest mountain and the world’s fifth highest mountain, there are three high passes waiting for the trekkers when they will be crossed. Officially, the name of the trek is Makalu to Everest via 3 Cols, and the two passes you have to cross are the highest passes of the world. Two of them are over 6000 m plus, imagine crossing such high passes, it is possible. If you love to walk on a narrow steep trail, if you love to walk on a steep descent trekking trail, using a rope in an icy slippery region, then you can ask a question to God that this trek, Makalu to Everest via 3 Cols, has been made for you. Give a big thank you to God as the mountains surround you. Also, thank an uphill rocky trekking trail for making you breathless. Take a rest. Breathless and rest are the two sides of a coin of trekking.

You don’t hear often about Makalu, is it because of isolation? Based on this, you can give a name to it. Some call it rarely visited gem. If you look at the sequence, you will find it between Everest and Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest mountain. Makalu is far off, standing in the wilderness, and it is waiting for the trekkers who want to cross their limits. This is the reason why you should never underrate Makalu to Everest via 3 Cols.

You don’t have to ask whether Arun Valley is beautiful or semi-beautiful, even the Nepali who is living in the most developed city will say, “It is the most beautiful part of Nepal.” The view of Everest is rewarding during Makalu to Everest via 3 Cols, and so is the view of Lhotse that will make you stare for a long stretch of time. The trekking trail is tough because it is among the world’s 8000 m peaks.

What are the names of the passes you are going to cross? They can also be called cols, and their names are Sherpani Col, West Col, and Amphu Labsta.

As soon as you are into the Everest Region, one of the incredible thoughts grips your mind. You are walking the trail that was the favorite spot of the legends. Following their footsteps, you become a part of their high esteemed thought. These steps keep your trekking spirit high until you reach the base camp, the world’s highest base camp.

We do not want you to be disappointed

Yes, this is what we want to say to you from our hearts and mind because your happiness is our happiness. If you are happy, we are happy. Your happiness depends on so many factors: first it depends on the service that we provide, second it depends on the weather, and third, it can be anything related to your trek. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla or Lukla to Kathmandu might get canceled due to bad weather, which can last from 1 to 2 days or 2 hours. Weather can be bad even in the best months, and we cannot guarantee to anybody when the weather will be good. This is the reason why you should bring some extra cash with you because you have to stay at a hotel either in Lukla or Kathmandu, and you have to pay the personal expenses by yourself. If the bad weather lasts for more than 2 days, your travel plan would be affected because you have to fly out from Nepal to your country in time. To avoid this situation, you can choose the alternative trek like Annapurna Base Camp or Langtang Valley Trek; however, we do not refund the money to you. We are sorry for the problem caused by the weather, and this is one of the main reasons why you should come to Nepal with some extra days as well as you should bring some extra cash with you.

Accommodation

You will be staying at a 3-star hotel (Value) in Kathmandu on bed and breakfast with an attached bathroom, and at the best possible hotel or lodge or guesthouse during the trek. For more information on accommodation during the trek, please read the following words given below.

The higher places you reach during the trek, the accommodation facilities of the lodge decreases, in other words, the lodges that are at a higher altitude have an Indian Type of Toilet, you will have to spend a night in a twin sharing room, and you will not find an attached bathroom.

Transportation

You will be seeing us outside the airport holding the name of TMG Adventure when you arrive in Kathmandu. If you arrive in the late evening, we will straightly take you to the hotel, and if you arrive in the day time, you will take you to our office. For more information, you can check it in what is included section.

Additional Info

Additional Info

When you confirm your trip with us, we, Travel Max Guide need some information about you because we have to do this, according to the rules and regulations, and we send this information to the tourism board because you are traveling in Nepal, and the same goes if you are traveling to Tibet and Bhutan through our agents. The information that you provide us will not be leaked, and it will be confidential because we know you also love to keep the matter within yourself as far as possible. Your privacy is our privacy. Please do provide us the following information so that we can build a good relationship with you not only for the present but also in the future.

  • We need the type of document that confirms your identity.
  • We need your name, address, mobile no, postal code, and email address.
  • Scan and send a copy of your passport.
If you have any questions on the above-mentioned, then please do send it to us because we want to have the information for your sake, for our sake, and the sake of your family.

Yes, this is what we want to say to you from our heart and mind because your happiness is our happiness; if you are happy, we are happy. Your happiness depends on so many factors; first, it depends on the service that we provide, second, it depends on the weather, and third can be anything related to your trek. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla or Lukla to Kathmandu might get canceled due to bad weather, which can last from 1 to 2 days, and sometimes, it lasts only for 2 hours. Weather can be bad even in the best months, and we cannot guarantee this to anybody when the weather will be good. This is the reason why you should bring some extra cash with you because you have to stay at a hotel either in Lukla or Kathmandu, and you have to pay for all the personal expenses by yourself. If the bad weather lasts for more than 2 days, then your travel plan would be affected because you have to fly out from Nepal to your country. In such a time, if the bad weather lasts for a couple of days, you can choose the alternative trek like Annapurna Base Camp or Langtang Valley Trek; however, we do not refund the money to you. Sorry for the problem caused by the weather. Weather is also another reason why you should come to Nepal with some extra days.

Travel Max Guide is not only a travel company but also a supporter of needy children and works together with FAN, a non-governmental organization. It helps these children by donating for their education. In other words, it buys books, pencils, and school bags as well as pays the school fee. Travel Max Guide donates a certain amount of its income to FAN annually, and the amount that it donates varies from year to year because the income that it earns also varies from year to year. Sometimes the income of Travel Max Guide is high, and sometimes, it is low. Accordingly, the donation is made. Travel Max Guide also has a volunteering program, and if you are interested, then you can help these children through this program, arranged by its founder and CEO.

Essential Info

Trekking is the most popular activity in Nepal, and travelers will be bombarded on the streets of Kathmandu and the trekking hub, with guides, organized tours and gear for sale or rent. The huge variety of options allows for people of many ages and capabilities to attempt a trek in the country. While you could spend a year planning an expedition to wild and lofty places that few would dare attempt, you could also arrive in Kathmandu with no plans and be on the trail in a matter of days. With eight of the top ten highest summits in the world and some of the most beautiful landscapes which are only reachable on foot, trekking in Nepal is one of the unique experiences.

Ensure you bring a copy of your travel insurance, a copy of your passport and 3 passport-sized photos. The fee for the Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 30 days is US $ 40 and for the tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 90 days is the US $ 100. You have to pay these at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu.

It is an opportunity to combine challenging mountain trail, unique culture and stunning mountains that are famous in the world. Nepal is home to an incredible trek like Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Langtang Trek, Manaslu Trek, Kanchenjunga Trek and many popular trekking routes that lead you to the wilderness. Everest Base Camp Trek and Annapurna Base Camp trek are the world's famous and iconic.

February, March, April, May, June, September, October, November and December are typically for trekking in Nepal.

TMG does not expect previous trekking experience from you; however, all the treks that it organizes are physically demanding. It recommends starting an exercise before your trek date. Many of its trips are at a higher altitude, the minimum is 2,000 m, and the max is 5,000 m plus.

It is a sickness caused due to a lack of oxygen at an altitude of 2000 m plus. Please read up extensively on Altitude sickness. Be familiar with the symptoms and do not ignore them. Be sure to keep to a conservative ascent schedule and drink plenty of fluids. If you or anyone in your party begins to experience symptoms of acute mountain sickness (AMS), do not ascend any further, and if they do not improve, then descend to a lower altitude. Carry some Diamox (acetazolamide) pills, easily found in pharmacies in Nepal. Diamox forces the kidneys to excrete bicarbonate in the urine, therefore making the blood more acidic, which stimulates breathing, increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood. But note that Diamox is not an immediate fix for acute mountain sickness; it speeds up part of the acclimatization process which in turn helps to relieve symptoms. This may take up to a day or two, and requires waiting without any further rapid ascent. It is often advisable to descend if even mild acute mountain sickness is experienced. If serious sickness is encountered or symptoms of high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) or high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE) occur, descent with another trekker is A MUST. Please consult the pharmacist when purchasing Diamox and do your research. One major thing to remember is that the body requires large amounts of water at altitude to counteract sickness so be sure to drink more than you are used to!

Yes, it will operate on the day it is scheduled, except if is beyond our control, such as political issues and natural disaster that will create undesirable travel conditions.

Yes. We run from solo travel to group travel.

There is no age restriction.

All our trekking guides are certified as Wilderness First-Aid Course and have years of experience in the mountains.

Yes, it provides a helicopter to rescue you. TMG strongly recommends you for trip insurance at an altitude of 2,000 m to 5,000 m. Please read the insurance policy of your company. Bring a copy of your insurance paper to Nepal.

No, please tell us whether you are vegetarian or non-vegetarian. TMG will accommodate your diet that you wish to eat. We recommend a vegan diet because it provides more fiber, antioxidants, and beneficial plant compounds. They also appear to be richer in potassium, magnesium, folate and vitamins A, C and E.

It costs US $2 and the US $4 at the lower and the higher elevation respectively.

There are 33 mountain peaks in Nepal of 5,650 m- 6,500 m height classified as trekking peaks. Climbing permits for these peaks cost USD 350 for one to four members, an additional USD 40 each for the next four members and USD 25 each for the final four members. Trekking peaks require a qualified climbing guide, permits, and deposits to cover camp waste disposal.

A few of the common accommodation options while trekking in Nepal are Tea Houses (Lodges) which can be found at various points on the trek. They offer dorm room accommodation and simple basic meals reflective of what the local people in the area eat. Although many tea houses and hotels in the hills and mountains are reasonably comfortable, some may not be comfortable, so it makes sense to bring a sleeping bag even for teahouse treks. Camping is another option for trekkers and it can be conducted almost anywhere in the country. Camping treks can be fully organized and supported by a team of guides, cooks, and porters to accompany you. Homestays in local villages can also be organized in a few treks.

The treks in Nepal are suitable for a wide spectrum of experience and physical fitness. If you can walk uphill for a few hours each day, then you can find a suitable trek in Nepal. An easy trek with Nepali support (guide/porter) and teahouse accommodation is quite attainable for anyone who is reasonably fit. A longer trek, crossing high passes and into remote regions demands a higher degree of endurance. For Trekking Peaks, i.e. summiting a mountain of 5,650 m-6,500 m, it is desirable to have some alpine climbing experience.

Always carry a head torch/lamp, water, some food, and a mobile phone with helicopter evacuation number, local police station and nearby health post in case of emergencies.

Before the departures check that your travel insurance covers trekking activities and the conditions. Be aware that some insurance companies view even walking in the mountains as "mountaineering" and will not provide coverage. Most reputable trekking agencies will require proof of rescue insurance before you start on your trek. It would be very costly to pay a helicopter rescue at 5,000 meters. Some insurance policies, in fact, most, will not cover you over 4,000 m. So make sure about your rescue insurance before you go for trekking.

Trek legally. You need for this a Trekking Agency, the sole authorized to employ staff for foreign trekkers. Do not hire staff or "independent guides" through hotels, unless they have a Trekking Agent license or offer this service through an affiliated Trekking Agent. Please make sure you take all of your trash, including bottles and cans from goods consumed in restaurants, to the nearest dustbins. Pollution and lack of trash management in the villages on the treks - including trash-clogged rivers and mounds of discarded beer bottles.

Tourism is the main source of income for the guides, porters, and hotel owners in Nepal, so we believe that the Himalayas should be protected not only for this generation but also for the future generation. Every trek that TMG runs focuses on taking care of the ecological aspects and works with the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP).

Yes, it does, and the rescue is done through helicopter, and the cost of the rescue operation is likely to be from USD 2500 to 3000 USD per person. If there is a group rescue operation, then the cost is likely to be USD 500 per person.

Yes, the trek runs. We do not charge any extra money for a solo trekker.

It is a sickness caused due to the lack of oxygen at a higher altitude in the mountainous region, and one of the ways to overcome it is to drink plenty of water. The other is descending to a lower altitude, and the medicine you can take to fight against it is Diamox (acetazolamide).

Most of the time, we have the first time trekkers, and they are doing good. So, you do not need to have any experience to do a trek, but we do recommend you jogging, swimming, and walking before coming to Nepal for it. Previous experience will be a plus point.

You must be 100% physically fit, that means, you should not have acute health problem nor chronic health problem.

In Nepal, many people still use cash; this does mean there is no ATM. You will find ATM in the main cities of Nepal, including Kathmandu and Pokhara. We would like to recommend you to exchange USD into Nepali currency before trekking.

Yes, you can at a small fee, especially when you acclimatize.

Tea houses might charge you from USD3 to USD 10 for Wi-Fi, and another option is to get a Nepal Telecom SIM card or Ncell SIM Card. You can also use your guide’s mobile for an international if you reimburse him.

C or D type outlet (adapter). Ask your guide, you can buy an adapter at a cheap price in Kathmandu.

Yes, you can charge, and you have to pay $1 to $4 an hour for charging.

If it is urgent, then you should find some privacy on the trail and pee.

We would like to recommend this diet rather than meat because in the mountainous regions there are no fridges to store meat.

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Typhoid
  • Malaria
  • Rabies

If you are seriously affected by altitude mountain sickness, then you will be flown to Kathmandu for treatment.

There is no such age limit because we have had families who trekked with us with their kids like 9 years old as well as senior people aged 70.

Nepal is the safest trekking destination in the world because you will be with a trekking guide and a porter. Lodges are safe, and our guide always gives paramount importance to your safety.

There will be other people in the group, but we do not tell you about their personal information, but of course, we can say the number of people in the group.

Only if you are doing a private tour (private trek), you can add extra days. If you are trekking in a group, then this is not possible. Because on a private tour, you have chosen your date, and you can trek in the way you have decided, we mean to say, there will be you or your family or friends, no outsiders.

No, because we have to pay for the hotel, transportation company, guide, government, and porter. For some trips, we have to book air tickets. We have to book all of these in advance. That is the reason, why we do not refund.

The trip price we have mentioned is inclusive and includes transportation, accommodation, meals during the trek, and government taxes, including guide service and porter. For personal expenses, the money you should bring is USD 500, and you have to exchange it into Nepali currency in Kathmandu before trekking.

  • First step in the Everest Base Camp

I was in Nepal for the Everest Base Camp Trek. Outstanding sceneries and good hospitality. On the way to the base camp, I got an opportunity to visit the Buddhist monastery as well as got some information about Buddhism. That was great. Our guide and porter were awesome. Very kind and helpful. Thank you, TMG.

  • Annapurna Circuit Trek

Trekking with Travel Max Guide was an amazing experience. My selection of trip and the company were excellent and of the right decision. In each moment of my walk, I came across adventure and discovered something new. I remember my first step on the Everest Base Camp. The view was spectacular. Passing through the Sherpa communities and staying in Namche Bazaar is unforgettable. I miss the trip very much. Anyway, thank you so much for your service while I was in Nepal. • Everest Trekking in Nepal

Originally from the United State of America from the city of Los Angeles where life is busy and rush. I made a trip with TMG. It’s a new experience than I excepted. I found Nepalese people really welcoming. They really love tourists. While trekking in the Everest region, I got time to spend with nature, gained plenty of ideas of culture and tradition from the Himalayas. The trip was totally mind-blowing. TMG has a good team spirit and is dedicated to serving guest and trekkers.

Mountain Flight

Mountain Flight

US$ 250per person
Duration: 1 Day

A mountain flight is beyond one’s imagination because you’ve never seen anything like it before. Only a bird gets to see this glorious view and you’re up close within minutes of being airborne. Enjoy a close look at some of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest and go home with incredible pictures because everyone gets a window seat!
Taking a mountain flight is the easiest thing to do. Buy a ticket and you’re taken on an hour-long flight that flies higher than some of the Himalayan peaks, looking down on glaciers and high altitude lakes. Nepal has eight of the highest mountains in the world and the only way to see them all is by flying past them. Even mountaineers don’t get to see them up close all in a day. The hostess identifies the individual peaks and the pilot invites each passenger to the cockpit to take pictures of Everest from their large windscreen.

In the west is seen the mighty peaks of the Dhaulagiri massif and the Annapurna range while far in the east lies Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga. The horizon seems like an endless jagged row of high snowy peaks stretching far into the distance. The rows and rows of mountain peaks are beyond one’s imagination and simply unbelievable.
Leaving Kathmandu domestic airport early in the morning before the clouds form, passengers take an hour’s flight around the Everest region with stunning views of all the major peaks. Maps are available on the mountain ranges so one can identify the various important peaks. The hostesses are there if you have questions. Should the weather not be suitable you will be either offered a refund or the option to fly again.

For visitors based in Pokhara, there are other options available such as taking a microlight flight towards the Annapurna Massif with spectacular views of the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre among them. A microlight is a two-seater small aircraft with a powered engine designed to carry no more than two people, the pilot, and the passenger.
For visitors who like to take a mountain flight to the extreme, there are options to charter helicopters and fly to the Everest range, taking a short tour around the Everest valleys before landing for breakfast and then returning to Kathmandu.

If you are someone with a higher adventure threshold, then you might also want to experience hang-gliding, paragliding, paramotor flying, sky diving or even participate in relevant training courses. Enjoy the spectacular views!
